The Heaphy Track!!

That’s right.  This Fat Hiker is now heading to the top of the South Island and going to walk the Heaphy Track.

This is a 4-6 Day (I’ll probably do it in 5), 78.4 km long tramp.

I picked this one because I had heard such good things about it from a number of people, and it looks like a good graduation from the Milford Track.  Apparently the walk covers such a wide variety of landscapes and vegetation so is very interesting from that perspective.  I don’t know, I’ll probably be looking at my feet most of the time as always.

This time I will invite my friends and family to join in the tramp if they so desire. I’ve done my “prove it to myself” walk, so lets go with a group if they want to.  I imagine it will still be mostly me plodding along by myself, as I am too slow and grumpy to be good walking company.

The Plan™ is to do it in February 2017 (actual date determined at time of booking based on availability).  I will book it in one months time (15th June 2016).  So if anyone wants to join in, then let me know by then.
